Kitesurfers Heaven on Earth - crystal clear, turquoise water, with perfect wind and nobody around. Just a 40-min-flight from Caracas you will find Los Roques. Los Roques is actually the biggest Marine Nature Park in the Caribbean. More than 350 small islands create unique kitesurf spots and each one is beautiful in their own way and surely every single one of them will have the most beautiful turquoise waters combined with sandy white or pink beaches. You can reach them all from the main island where all the tourist accommodations are located - Gran Roque, which will take you around 10 to 45 minutes by boat, depending on which spot you go. Because of the wide variety of seabirds and rich aquatic life, the Venezuelan government declared Los Roques a National Park in 1972
The major islands of the archipelago have an atoll structure, with two external barriers formed by coral communities, and an inner lagoon and sandy shallows. The park consists of 40.61 km², 1500 km² of coral reefs, 42 coral cays surrounding a shallow central lagoon of 400 km², two barrier reefs (24 km east and 32 km south) and 300 sand banks, islands and cays, ranging in size from Cayo Grande (15.1 km²) to the Gran Roque (1.7 km²).] Other important islands are Francisqui, Nordisqui, Madrisqui, and Crasqui.

When to go ?
The most reliable winds are from February till May. Wind forecast during that period is around 90% probability with wind ranging from 16-25 knots.
Water Temperature and Air temperture are on average above 25 C mainly for boardshort and lycra weather.
In January till March you might still need a shorty wetsuit, we recommend bringing 1mm-2mm top neoprene. From March on it’s warm enough for boardshorts. We would really recommend taking a lycra with you because the sun is very strong.
No wind activities
Most likely that there will be wind the whole time, but if want to do something else besides kitesurfing - you have a few options:
go snorkeling - watch sea stars and turtles or go diving. Other options are boat fly fishing trips or the ultimate extreme experience - skydiving above Los Roques.
